Jason Brown

After two years of playing basketball at Bishop O' Dowd High School, Brown transitioned into the video field as a 16-year old junior after attending a 12-week intensive workshop learning SportsCode with TEAM Inc. Shortly after, he applied his new video skills breaking down games for his high school Varsity basketball team under head coach Lou Richie. He helped the team to a 19-11 record in the 2016-2017 season, and an astounding 27-6 record in the 2017-2018 season as the #10 team in California and 2018 North Coast Section Division 2 Champions, where Co-Founder Lucas Cortez was also on staff.
After graduating from O' Dowd in 2018, Brown attended City College of San Francisco, working as the video coordinator for the men's basketball team under head coach Justin Labagh. His first season there, he helped the team to a record of 31-2 before coming up short of a state championship. In the 2019-2020 season, Brown was promoted to Director of Men's Basketball Operations while still contributing as the video coordinator. The miraculous team was ranked #1 in the entire state and went 30-0 before COVID-19 ended their season, unable to participate in the state tournament.
Over the past 4 years, Brown has accumulated experience in video analysis through working with organizations such as the Golden State Warriors, USA Basketball, Oakland Soldiers, and other various programs at the high school and junior college level. Traveling all over the country working with the top talent and coaches there are to offer at all levels, being a Mini-Intern at NBA Summer League for the past 3 Summers, and as a director of basketball operations, he has experience to bring to the table.
GAME OVA began unofficially in 2018 as a side-hustle for Jason while he worked mainly at the Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro as a Youth Development Coordinator. Offering insights based solely on his coach's needs, it blew his mind to see how much teams began to rely on video and analytics off the court. Brown was then inspired to begin his own business offering elite-level video analysis services to coaches and organizations looking to improve. He saw that with the right insights and analysis, any team can improve and it became his mission to help them do so. In late 2019, Brown decided to make GAME OVA official and soon after brought on Co-Founder, Lucas Cortez, as his business partner to help lead the push.
Currently, Brown is working effortlessly with Cortez making sure GAME OVA is the best it can possibly be, while also a peer instructor with TEAM Inc. leading online classes teaching SportsCode and new sports software, MyVideoAnalyser. He plans to head back to City College in Fall 2020, from where he will transfer to the University of Nevada, Reno in the Spring.

“Over the last few years I have watched Jason develop into a bright young man with a passion for excellence. He is an incredible team player with a tremendous ability to accomplish goals under tight deadlines. Most importantly, Jason is an honest and great individual who would be an asset to any organization striving to achieve an edge.”
